The twins got to experience their first hike of the season on mommy and daddy's backs. We did a 3 mile loop up the small mountain. The conditions were a little soggy due to all the rains. At the top you could see Boston supposedly but it wasn't that clear. Up at the top there were blueberry bushes. We hiked down and came home by way of Lowell Mass and realized there was a Folk Music Festival going on. First we stopped at the Lowell Beer Works for an early dinner and met some people we knew with their two kids. The boy was 5 and their little girl is 15 months. Zev and the little boy were playing, Zev was actually playing with the kid. The older boy would run and hide and Zev would scream and laugh and run to go find him. Orli joined in a little later. After dinner we walked around the festival and listened to some music and saw lots of other babies.
It is amazing to see how they are developing into little people, little kids. Orli is such a little girl, she loves little cute little furry things. She picks up her small teddy bears and hugs them. She gravitates toward purses. The twins laugh and run after each other. The thing we noticed over the last week is that they have the ability to sit with a book and flip through the pages and take the time to look at the images.
Today we woke up early and went blueberry picking with the babies on our backs. We didn't pick very much because the sun was up and we didn't want the kids to get burned. There are not many berries yet, it is still early in the season. While we picked we would pass blueberries back. Zev loves berries, he would get anxious and try reaching out to grab onto the bush for another berry. Tonight daddy made a great dinner of Skillet Baked Ziti from the show America's Test Kitchen. This recipe is great and it is all made in one skillet, and you boil the pasta in the sauce. The kids loved it and then they had blueberries for dessert.
