That is because Orli can walk, so far it is not her preferred method of transporting herself, but she will attempt a good 10 steps at a time now. She can also pull herself up to standing with out having to hold onto something. It is pretty cool. Zev has taken fewer steps, but he can now free stand. It is very cute because he cracks up while standing, almost amazed at himself.
Other milestones include transitioning to milk from formula. That is a gradual process that results in some gassy emissions from both the kids.
The babble is transitioning to one or two commonly said words to a jumble of noises that sometimes sounds like a sentence complete with inflections. Orli gets pretty loud about something and will shout and point saying the same noise over and over. Only she knows what she is saying. Some sound that she makes right now is "Wocka wocka" reminiscent of Fozzie Bear from the Muppets. Speaking of which, we have a Rawlf puppet (the piano playing dog) and we make him talk to the babies, but Zev got nervous when he "bit" his hand and then he didn't want to touch him until he saw Orli hug the doll.
Both have become very affectionate toward us, each other and their toys. Especially a oversized stuffed Bear, that they jump on and take turns placing their heads on its furry belly. To encourage this we say "Awwwww". Then Aunt Marion gave them baby dolls for their birthday, they each pick up the baby doll and hug it next to their face and say "Aaah". Then Zev took his cortisone cream and put it next to his cheek and said "aaah". I guess this is a learned behavior. It is very cute, they hug us and hug each other, it is such a cool feeling for us as parents to have that love returned.
