Thinking about Grandma Val

It has been nine months since we lost Grandma Val. She passed away the day after the twins had a doctor's appointment. Today they had their 18 month checkup. We would have told her that the twins are growing, they are each about 32 to 32 1/2 inches tall. They are kind of on the skinny side, but the doctor thought they were developing well and we just need to get some fatty food in them. We also would have told her how fun they are and how they play together and laugh. We are blessed to have these kids. We would tell her how they babble in their cribs in the dark, sometimes singing, making animal noises and practicing all the words they learned for the day. They have advanced so much since she left us and yet we know that as they grow, we'll see her come through in the way they look or their little personalities. Just a year ago were the last pictures we have of her and we cherish them. It serves as a bittersweet way to measure the twins growth into little people.
