Give you a clue of what the twins are for Halloween..
Mommy made the costumes by taking purple union suits and ironing on a decal to the front, making a pair of felt belts and completing the ensemble with some purple snow boots from Lands End at half price because of the funky purple color. Everything worked out great, accept we let the kids fall asleep in their outfits and well, they were soaked by morning.
Despite all their wonder twin powers they could not stop the forces of evil which brought one of our little superheros to Childrens ER on Sunday night. Orli got her little finger caught in a can of tomatoes that was in the recycling, the lid was still attached but she managed to wedge her little thumb in there. When mommy came by to help, she yanked her thumb causing her to slice her little baby thumb right open. Eeewwww... bleh, it was just awful, bloody, lots of parents running around screaming, yelling, running in circles, holding a little baby thumb in various paper towels and wash cloths. When clearer heads prevailed, we wisked the babies in the van, shoved little shoes in purses, and took off for the hospital, but had to turn back because we thought we left the stove on... Arghh. Orli relaxed and actually napped on the way while mommy held her little hand up high with pressure. The doctors took a look and decided to go ahead with two stitches but without any local anestetic to ease the pain. Poor little girl had to sit through the pain of getting stitched, they had wrapped her in a sheet like a buritto and held her down. She cried and cried and the sad part was she kept saying "up?" When it was all over she totally forgot and was happy again. Whew, it also did help a bit that Zev was having an asthma attack all weekend, which we treated at home, waking up in the night to administer the meds.
